Regiment was sent to ISrael, but Roy was kept in office. After an adventure leading the guard platoon on a ship full of German POWs, he ended up in Germany, then was transferred to Royal Fusilliers, then stationed in Germany, first in Bauer, then in Rechlinghausen.
